Top 3 Well Known Scandals That May Keep Mahama In Opposition For Four More Years

NDC
His Excellency the formal President of the Republic of Ghana John Dramani Mahama is one of Ghana's young elected Presidents ever not because of his age but the strength and physical nature as he was really young when he was offered the mandate to rule over Ghana, but he is also a President which in his term of office most people of Ghana tagged him of being incompetent due to various decisions he made when he was in office.
I think by now most of you my readers reading this may still not know whom Mahama is then please relax and read a brief description of who he is below.
"John Dramani Mahama is a Ghanaian politician who served as President of Ghana from 24 July 2012 to 7 January 2017. He previously served as Vice President of Ghana from January 2009 to July 2012, and took office as President on 24 July 2012 following the death of his predecessor, John Atta Mills."
Well, Mahama in his term of office made terrible decisions and setting action that did not help the well-being of the country, he also made some unprofessional remarks which many Ghanaian's did not take it lightly to him as they also bound back with words of anger and disappointment in him for saying those kinds of words looking at a man of his caliber who also happens to be the President.
Today in this article we are going to talk about setting moves and words used by formal president Mahama that may serve as a hindrance or a force that wells stop him from getting back as the president of Ghana on 7th December if care is not taken.
Airbus Bribe
This Airbus bribe is a huge blow to Mahama and his NDC party as this year marks the year for elections and what makes this bribery scandal convincing and truth are how it all came about. All this scandal started when a former star of the successful British series Coronation Street Philip Middlemiss and girlfriend in November 2010 was invited to a charity gala at a cricket club in England, after the game he was asked by a local newspaper asked him of his plans and as big as he is much was expected of him he went on and made his intentions clear by saying “I’m working out in Ghana, in West Africa. My best friend’s brother is the vice president. So I went out there thinking of directing a feature film and now I’m working with the government.”
Ten years after saying this on live television, an investigation was made by France, the United States and British authorities into alleged corruption at the European aircraft manufacturer Airbus and Ghana were among the countries which were under investigation and in few months many people including Formal President John Dramani Mahama’s brother, Samuel Adam Mahama was all suspected of having a hand in this deal between Ghana President(John Dramani Mahama) and the Airbus company.
In many months of debating, Mahama broke his silence when he, came out to declare that he did not have any hand in the Airbus dealings or whatsoever but what makes this dangerous for his faith the upcoming 7 December general elections is that when all this started he was the Vice-President and after the death of President Atta Mills he became the president for two terms and was reelected into office again for another four more terms on December 7, 2012.
NDC
Most Ghanaian thinks he is still not clean and that he is capable of assist in it since he was able to offer a construction project this same brother of his who was then not a contractor when he (Mahama) was in power and with these thoughts in most people is likely to vote against him if they revisit this event.
SADA Tress and the Missing Guinea Fowls
John Mahama in his term at the office as the president of the Republic of Ghana on Tuesday the 9th of April, 2013 directed the Minister-in-Charge of Development Authorities at the Presidency, Alhaji Mustapha Ahmed, to furnish the Chief of Staff with a comprehensive report on the 47 million Ghana Cedis Guinea fowl and afforestation projects.
In awake of this project many Ghanaian and other social groups with the likes of Transparency and Accountability Forum (TAF) were not very happy with the decision as they thought the said money could have been used to furnish more important projects than that of what the president as it was not the number priority needs of the people but Mahama turned death ears to this and went on with what he had in mind and in no time GH¢15million and GH¢32million respectively had been spent on the afforestation and Guinea Fowl projects with no trace of the trees and fowl farms.
In this year's general elections many Ghanaians who do recall this saga is going use it to voted out Mahama and his NDC party out again since said projects were nowhere to be found when asked after and the 47 million Ghana Cedis used for this missing projects were also nowhere to be found in the country.
The collapse of the National Health Insurance Scheme
Mahama in his term of office made many promises to the extent that many were expected of him by many Ghanaian but what most people were after was when he made a promise to implement a one-time premium payment for the National Health Insurance Scheme since that to the people of Ghana going to really help them with ease whenever they wanted to visit the hospital.
This promise as said by Mahama was not fulfilled and what even makes this an embarrassment to Mahama and NDC party is when highlighting their top achievements in the first green book exposed of the neglected promise by saying“With or without the implementation of one-time premium payment, the NHIS will need additional resources to sustain it.
In no time the scheme totally collapsed as hospitals refused to collect the NHIS card which was meant to help people of Ghana to receive free health care because these health facilities were demanding monies that the Government was owning them but then Mahama Government turned death ears to this problems and soon health care came back to cash and carry health care when should have been free health care delivery services.
These are few scandals that may hunt Mahama and his NDC government come 7 December 2020 elections. what do you also think? Can this stop Mahama from winning 2020 general elections?
